Waxing
Applying
My tips to a (almost sort of kind of) completely painless waxing
procedure!!! :-D
Preparation: First, don't shave for about three weeks,
depending on your leg hair and how crazy it grows. You don't want it to
get too long because then it can really hurt when you're taking it off,
but you don't want it to be too short because then it won't come out. 1.
Alright, um, strip off from the waist down to your underwear (er,
obviously) and take a baby wipe (a million uses and counting...ok just
three: makeup remover, baby wiper, and waxing prepper) and rub it on
"the area you're going to wax." This gets rid of all the dead
skin cells and makes it...better somehow. Just don't ask, you're supposed
to use little towlettes that come with it but baby wipes work just as
well. 2. Take baby powder and cake it over what you just wiped
(this makes it hurt less for some reason...don't ask I read it somewhere,
and it works!) 3. Just follow the directions that come with the waxing
kit. Pull REALLY HARD. Don't be afraid. It doesn't work if you don't 4.
Slather your legs with ulta-moisturizing lotion with shea butter in it.
(Makes the wax smoother and last longer)
Care & Product Recommendations
Waxing is probably the best way to go compared to shaving (inconvient and,
after a while, boring) and cream remover stuff (messy), plus it's the best
for your skin out of all three. But in order for it to really work, you
can't be afraid to yank all of your hair out. And after a while, it
doesn't hurt. Really. I'm about as girly as you can get and I don't
particularly think waxing my legs hurt at all, kind of like getting your
ears pierced sort of pain. Also, for it to work, you need a wax that um,
works. If you have the money, I really, really, REALLY recommend poetic
waxing kit (get it here at sephora)
because even though it is forty dollars it is perfect and professional.
Another cheap alternative is Nair Roll On Wax. And as for the baby powder,
just get one of those travel size 99 cent Johnson&Johnson, because you
don't need that much.
